How does the Silent Auction work?

We will be using mobile bidding the night of Taste of Earth and the week leading up to the event for the silent auction. You will be able to use your smartphone or tablet to bid and keep up with your bids before and at Taste of Earth. Electronic bidding is the only way to participate in the silent auction. Don't forget your cell phone at home! Staff and volunteers will be available to assist you during the silent auction at Taste of Earth. 

How do I participate in the online silent auction?

Get started online through this auction page or by clicking on the "Welcome" message that was texted or emailed to you! If you are attending Taste of Earth in-person, you should have this link. If not, please email [email protected], we will be able to resend the link. If you are not attending Taste of Earth in-person, click the "Register Now" button toward the top of this page and enter your name, cell phone, and email. Credit card information is required to bid. 

How do I start and continue my bidding?

Browse the Silent Auction and start bidding on your favorite items! Place your bid on selected items, select a maximum bid if desired, and Givesmart will keep you in the running until you reach your maximum bid. Preview Oral Auction items online and bid in-person at Taste of Earth!

How can I keep active and know when I've been outbid or if I've won an item?

You will be notified via text if you've been outbid or, if you have reached your maximum bid. If you are NOT receiving text, make sure the correct phone number is on your profile. When the silent auction closes, you will also be notified if you have won any items. You will be notified by text about 10 minutes before the auction closes.

How will I collect my winnings?

Auction winners are required to make payment the night of the event. Cash or check is preferred, see the attendant at the checkout station after the auction has closed. Please note: you will have the choice to either pay credit card fees yourself or allocate them to Givesmart. We would greatly appreciate it if you would consider paying the credit card fees, as "passing on the fees" decreases our fundraising earnings. Most auction items will be available to take home the night of the event. In the event you are not able to arrange pick-up the night of the event, please contact us during normal business hours at (330) 668-8992 to make arrangements. Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver items.
